History of Cheerleading

Cheerleading first appeared in the United States in the late 1880s with the crowd chanting as a way to encourage school spirit at athletic events.

It is now a world renowned sport, that involves teamwork, dedication and showmanship. Scotland has grown in the sport of cheerleading over the recent years and now holds over 7 different competitions held by different companies. These range from Scotcheer, ACDC, BCA and West Lothian Dance Challenge some of these are national events that attract people from other countries and some are quiet local local events. Although they do not differ in the talent on show from all teams.

Cheerleading is growing each year and will continue to grow as a sport in the future.
